  • Paid Time Off (PTO)


    Part-time employees will accrue a pro-rated amount of PTO based upon their part-time status equivalency to a full-time employee. Changes to the PTO accrual amounts as indicated on the schedule above become effective in the pay period following an employee’s employment anniversary date with the Company. Interns accrue PTO at the rate of 1 hour for every 30 hours worked.

  • Educational Assistance Program


    The EO Educational Assistance Program was established in an effort to assist employees who wish to pursue formal education to enhance their current skills and improve their potential for future opportunities with EO.

    The Program may reimburse eligible, approved employees for educational expenses associated with programs that are determined by the company to be appropriate and pertinent to the employee’s career. Applicants for the Program must meet all eligibility requirements and receive advanced approval as prescribed within Program guidelines.

    Approval for participation will be based on multiple factors including Corporate Budget, Corporate Strategy as well as the Department’s and Employee’s workload. Participation in the Program must be approved annually, prior to enrolling in the courses for which reimbursement is to be sought.

    The Company reserves the right to limit the number of participants in the Program or to stagger participation in the Program, based on Corporate Strategy and/or budgetary goals. Please visit the HR Intranet page to read the full policy and application forms.

  • Day Care Subsidy


    Edmund Optics provides employees reimbursement for the cost of daycare services for children up to age 12. This benefit is available to full-time employees after 90 days of active employment. The company will reimburse 25% of your weekly expense up to $50 per child. There is a maximum of 3 children that an employee can submit for reimbursement.

    Employees must submit a bill or statement from the provider certifying the monthly cost for services. Employees may not participate in the Day Care subsidy and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Plans in the same calendar year. If your total reimbursement for dependent care goes beyond $5000 there are tax consequences associated with the receipt of this benefit. Please consult your accountant or the IRS for further information.

    All reimbursements must be submitted in the year the fee was incurred in order to be reimbursed. December fees are an exception and can be reimbursed in January if submitted no later than January 15th of the following year.

  • What is covered?


    The travel benefit is included for members enrolled on the Meritain medical plans. This benefit helps you pay for eligible transportation and lodging expenses for designated services in which access to a provider is limited. Travel is covered for:

    • Consultation and diagnostic tests provided at the approved facility or provider prior to the procedure or treatment.
    • The procedure or treatment.
    • Follow-up care as medically appropriate.
    • Eligible travel expenses such as gas, car rental, tolls, taxi/Uber, air travel, and hotels.

    Travel is covered for you and, depending on the nature of the services, for your companion/ caregiver. It will be covered until you reach the maximum benefit amount ($10,000) or you are no longer eligible for coverage.

  • Availability


    • Travel to in-network participating providers.
    • Travel can be used when you cannot find an available in-network provider within a certain radius of your primary home residence (60 miles).
  • How does it work?


    Contact Meritain to review coverage before you travel. After traveling, simply complete and submit an expense form with the original itemized receipts from travel and lodging expenses incurred for medical procedures and/or treatments where travel was required.

  • Gym Reimbursement


    Edmund Optics reimburses up to $10.00 per eligible month paid quarterly. Employees are eligible after 90 days of active employment.
